The Grassroots Political Tour aims to explain the political and cultural reality of Jerusalem and how Israeli policies have and continue to suffocate the Palestinian capital and largest metropolitan area.
The tour begins with a 45 min historical briefing to explain the context of Jerusalem. This briefing takes place at Grassroots Jerusalem’s office at 9 Harun al-Rashid Street, Wadi al-Joz, Jerusalem. After the briefing, we begin the 2.5 to 3 hour tour of the city by bus. The tour includes 6 stops inside and outside Palestinian communities in Jerusalem and covers issues of legal status, economy, education, health, home demolitions and settlements.
Over the past year GJ took more than 76 groups and 1067 people on a tour of Jerusalem. NGOs, students, journalists, diplomats, delegates and faith based groups came to learn about the political and cultural reality of Jerusalem. This June GJ will have a public tour:
