Restoring justice and developing sustainable peace in #Israel and #Palestine through entrepreneurship. Based in #Bethlehem.
The inspiration for this shop began in the summer of 2014 when the founder, Walter Brynjolfson, visited the Holy Land on a 2 month volunteering trip. He became enamored with the Palestinian Christians and felt a personal calling to help develop empathy within the hearts of North American Christians for the oppressed people of this land.
In September 2015 he moved to Bethlehem where he now resides, and he began to find creative ways to share the stories of the people through online social entrepreneurship. He noticed that hundreds of Tear Gas Canisters were lying around and decided to start an initiative to turn them into Christmas Tree ornaments. The Etsy Store was launched and sales began to accumulate, with proceeds going to Palestinian initiatives for peace.
A couple days after the launch, in December 2015, AJ+ published a video of the project which went viral and received over 750,000 views on Facebook. The goal of sharing the stories of Palestinians was accomplished! But there is still much to do.
Soon this website will share the stories of Palestinians through a handful of unique and beautiful products.
