Al-Zewadeh, is a Palestinian Arabic oriental restaurant which aims to contribute in generating income for poor families and enrolling young women in universities. What is Zewadeh - Zewadeh in Arabic refers to the meal farmers and workers take to the fields and the places of work. - The restaurant was established in 2003. - It serves dishes from the Palestinian cuisine, home-made dishes like Makloba, Kabssa, Vine leaves and Karshat. - Through the past years, the restaurant succeeded to take its place on Ramallah’s restaurants’ map, for its special oriental décor, and convenient prices. - In addition, the restaurant provides cozy environment for families, which makes it a destination for many students who live away from their families, especially in Ramadan. The importance of Zewadeh for PWWSD, - It permanently employs 3 people - It temporarily employs 5–7 people - The generated income contributes in supporting the counseling open-line, and the counseling program which is responsible to receive calls on family problems, legal and psychological issues. - The generated income is used to assist poor families in providing their life basics, paying their water and electricity bills, medicine and food.
