"يُعاد" تجربة يقدمها مركز خليل السكاكيني الثّقافي من تقييم لارا الخالدي. حيث سنقوم بعرض عمل "فيديو آرت" واحد نعتقد أنه مهم في سياق الفن الفلسطيني والشرق أوسطي الحديث، بشكل مستمر لمدة يوم كامل في المركز، مرة كل شهر. العرض سيستمر من 10:00 صباحاً حتّى 8:00 مساءً.

وا ويلاه (2008) للفنانة منيرة القديري

سلسلة من الرقصات المتكررة تنفذ علي أنغام أغنية عبد الوهاب الراشد الشعبية الحزينة عن الحب والرثاء. مستخدمة الأزياء والمكياج بشكل مكثف ومبالغ به، وا ويلاه يتموضع في مكان ما بين مسرحية شكسبيرية وأغنية مصورة على "أم تي في" حيث تختلط غنى وألوان الصورة المعاصرة مع الملابس التقليدية.
القديري تبحث في الأدوار والمُسلّمات الجندرية (الاجتماعية، الموسيقية والسينمائية) من خلال قلب الأدوار الجنسانية، وبالتالي تقوم المخرجة نفسها بلعب دور المغني الذكر، في حين يلعب دور المغنيات شباب يلبسون دور نساء. الشهوة والإثارة تمثل وتنفذ من خلال حركات مدروسة كتمثيل للمجلس، الحريم والتابعين - ضمن مارسات اجتماعية أخرى-.
منيرة القديري فنانة بصرية وصانعة أفلام كويتية، مولودة في السنيغال وأنهت دراستها في اليابان. في عام ٢٠١٠ حصلت علي شهادة الدكتوراه في دراسات الميديا من جامعة طوكيو للفنون، حيث ركز بحثها على جماليات الحزن في منطقة الشرق الأوسط النابعة من الشعر، الموسيقى، الفن، والممارسات الدينية. ممارستها الفنية تكتشف العلاقة بين النرجسية والذكورية، وهي تقترب حاليا من المواضيع الاجتماعية-السياسية. منيرة عضو في المجموعة الفنية جي سي سي.
Loop: is a experiment by Khalil Sakakini Cultural Centre curated by Lara Khaldi, in which we will be screening one Video Art work whcih we think is essential in the Palestinian and Middle Eastern contemporary art practive, continuously for a whole day once a month. the screening will go on from 10am-8pm.

Oh Torment (Wa Wailah) (2008) Digital Video

A series of repetitive choreographies are set to Abdul Wahab Al Rashid’s woeful folk song of love and lament. Complete with over-the-top costumes, props and make-up, Wa Wailah is located some- where between a Shakespearean play and an MTV music video as rich and col- ourful contemporary visuals are mixed with traditional attire.
Al Qadiri scrutinises gender roles and conventions (social, musical or cinematic) by switching the roles of the sexes: thus the lmmaker herself plays the role of the male singer, while all the female dancers are played by cross-dressing men. Eroticism and sensuality are played out through scripted moves as notions of the majlis, the harem and the convoy – among other social practices – are invoked.

Monira Al Qadiri is a Kuwaiti visual artist and film maker born in Senegal and educated in Japan. In 2010, she received a Ph.D. in inter-media art from Tokyo University of the Arts, where her research was focused on the aesthetics of sadness in the Middle-East region stemming from poetry, music, art and religious practices. Her practice explores the relationship between narcissism and masculinity, and is recently expanding towards more socio-political subjects. She is also part of the artist collective GCC.
