علقان على غيار ثاني: وجهاً لوجه مع التسعينيات
التسعينيات هي تاريخ وجغرافية خاصة في فلسطين؛ هي عصر الأحلام باستقلال لم يتحقق؛ وهي جغرافية ما فتئت تتقلص أو تتشرذم؛ وهي أيضاً الجيل الذي عاشت جدّاتهم النكبة، وشهدت أمهاتهم النكسة، وهم أنفسهم عاشوا الانتفاضة الأولى، وساهموا، بصورة أو بأخرى، في بناء المؤسسات/الوطن/الدولة كما نعيشها الآن. بغض النظر عن أوجه قصور تلك الحقبة وفشلها، فإن الشباب الفلسطيني، الذي ولد قليلاً قبل التسعينيات وبعدها، لم يشارك في صنع هذه الأفكار، النماذج أو المقاربات لنواحي الحياة التي يعيشها . على العكس من ذلك، ولدوا في زمن ومكان وأفكار جاهزة للتبني والمديح. هذا ينطبق على النماذج والمقاربات المتعلقة بالتراث، والتعليم، والرعاية الطبية، والثقافة، والأمن، والوطن، والعدل، وحق العودة، والاستقلال ... لأن التسعينيات على بعد جيل عن هنا ومن الآن، هل يمكن أن نتوقف ونطرح تساؤلات حول تلك النماذج والنهج والمقاربات ذات الصلة بممارساتنا في كل الميادين؟ هذا اللقاء هو حول مواجهة أنفسنا ومؤسساتنا بطريقة نقدية، بهدف فتح نقاشات مشروعة بين الأجيال المتعاقبة حول الماضي والحاضر والمستقبل.

Stuck in 2nd gear: Encountering the 1990s
The 1990s represents a special period and space for Palestine. It is an era of dreams of autonomy that did not materialize. It is a space that has either shrunk or fragmented. It is also a generation whose grandmothers lived the Nakba, whose mothers witnessed the Naksa, and in which they themselves lived through the first Intifada, contributing in one way or another to the nation/state building processes that we live in today. Despite the shortcomings and failures of that era, young Palestinians born just before or after the 1990s did not share these processes, paradigms or speculations. Instead, they were born into it to embody and embrace them. This is applicable to paradigms related to heritage, education, medical care, culture, security, homeland, justice, right of return, autonomy... As the 1990s are almost a generation away from here and now, can we pose and reflect on the paradigms, approaches, and processes related to our practices in respective fields? This encounter is about confronting and examining our institutions and ourselves in a reflexive manner, and opening legitimate and just intergenerational debates about the past, present and future.
